Pantoum

A Pantoum is a poem with each line repeated in a set order. This gives it a circular feel. Not sure what I think of it really. It has a meloncholy air, I think... because it has that sense of being stuck in a loop.

Dream

I walk alone through long grass
the night air cracks and spits
I remember it was your birthday
sandy toes washed by lapping waves

the night air cracks and spits
I dream of
sandy toes washed by lapping waves
you laughing

I dream of
the taste of salt
you laughing
that day upon the beach

the taste of salt
I remember it was your birthday
that day upon the beach
I walk alone through long grass
